Allegra Whispers account of how she came to join Luscious classes and how she continues to grow and flourish has truly humbled us here at Luscious HQ.  Get yourself a brew and enjoy this beautiful journey through burlesque.

Allegra whispers: A woman with dark shaved hair wearing a fringed bra and wolf costume

I signed up to Luscious Burlesque Beginners course in 2018. It has been one of the greatest things I’ve ever done. In all honesty, I got out of a toxic, abusive relationship a few years back and since then its been a journey to find myself and my confidence again. It left me feeling lost, alone, and with a lot of emotional baggage as well as an incredible amount of self-doubt, and a lot of issues with myself.

Emily and Trixi really invest in each individual and you can clearly see Burlesque is their passion

However, getting out of it also left me with an exciting notion that I could do what I want, and an immense sense of freedom. I remember one-day thinking, I needed to find a creative outlet but also something to empower my femininity and sexuality. I happened to stumble across the Luscious Cabaret site and signed up to it on a whim and very last minute. Because why not?

Allegra Whispers with hands in the air shouting YES

Going into it I was very nervous, but Emily and Trixi were such inspirational women who really helped with every single silly question I had. The group was lovely, and I’ve made really great friends from it.

There were some classes which I missed and thought to just give up on the whole thing, but seeing and experiencing how welcoming Emily, Trixi, and the rest of the class were just inspired me to see it through and carry on!

Since doing the Beginner and Advanced course I’ve performed in many cabarets, even a festival in Barcelona!

What I love about Luscious Cabaret itself and the courses is that it is, without a doubt, the most welcoming and accepting cabaret I have ever been to. Emily and Trixi really invest in each individual and you can clearly see Burlesque is their passion. They really care about teaching it and are always excited to help you.

Since doing the Beginner and Advanced course I’ve performed in many cabarets, even a festival in Barcelona!  I teamed up with Bella Rose to produce the Luscious Take Over and it has been so exciting, as well as a  lot of admin, which Bella Rose has helped an incredible amount with. It has shown me a different side to burlesque which I’d like to continue to pursue.

Its been a year and a few months since my Burlesque Debut and I’m still very much learning a lot but I know that Luscious Cabaret will always be there to support me, and more importantly have unknowingly been a very important factor in my life, helping me become me again!

Begin your own burlesque journey like Allegra Whispers by signing up to the next Luscious Burlesque Course which shall begin on Monday 16th September at the Academy Mews Studios in Camden.  Bookings can be made via our Beginners Burlesque Page Here

As you may of seen Little Lady Luscious has handed over the reigns of Luscious Cabaret to two of her recent advance burlesque graduates Bella Rose & Allegra Whispers.  Every student’s burlesque journey is different so we asked them to tell us about theirs and whoa were we blown away by their stories.  We begin with Bella Rose …

Woman sat on chair holding a top hat over her head. Wear black gloves and black underwear with black fringing. Picture is in black and white

My first introduction to the world of Cabaret was pretty epic, as it was when I went to watch the Moulin Rouge. The lead dancer at the time had been taught by my Gran who runs her own dance school, so my family and I were lucky enough to go to Paris to watch her in all her showgirl glory. As an awkward 12-year-old I remember initially feeling a bit embarrassed about the number of boobs on show, but I soon got over this and became totally mesmerised by the costumes, showmanship and glamour.

I booked the burlesque beginners course at Luscious Cabaret before I could change my mind and can honestly say it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

Fast forward a few years and I was sitting in a bar with fellow performer, Bootsy Bonafonte, who was my dance school buddy growing up. She was telling me how she’d started taking burlesque lessons with someone called Little Lady Luscious and that she thought I would really love it too. I remember thinking how awesome this was, but that there wasn’t a chance in hell I could be brave enough to put myself out there like that. A few months later I watched her perform at the Luscious Cabaret and was so incredibly proud of how she owned the stage and her body that I nearly signed up to the course there and then. Sadly, the next day I was dancing round my bedroom in my underwear (as you do), caught a glimpse of my body in the mirror and thought ‘who the hell would want to see that?’, so this idea was pushed firmly out of my mind.

The turning point for me was getting married… random timing I know! As a self-confessed organisation freak, I’d spent months planning every detail of our wedding so knew I was going to have to get a hobby to fill the ‘wedmin’ void. After a few whatsapps to Bootsy from my honeymoon lounger, I booked the burlesque beginners course at Luscious Cabaret before I could change my mind and can honestly say it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

Woman with blonde hair posing with arm above her head wearing only nipple tassels and large pants

I remember my first lesson like it was yesterday. Donning bright lipstick, a polka dot head scarf and red Jimmy Choos (my wedding shoes), I rocked up to Academy Mews Studio having no idea what to expect. I was then greeted by Emily – AKA Little Lady Luscious – who was so incredibly welcoming and lovely, then I was strutting around the studio like Beyoncé before I knew it, wondering why I hadn’t done this sooner. Over the next few weeks I learned the basics of burlesque, created a stage name (after a drunken brainstorm with my husband) and a routine that I would soon be performing in front of a live audience. As a small-boobed, big-bummed girl I was incredibly self-conscious about my body and had no intentions of doing a full strip, maybe a sexy dance at best. However, after some encouraging words from LLL, a bit of Dutch courage and an incredibly supportive audience, I found myself standing in front of a cheering crowd, sporting red star nipple tassels (and not much else), feeling more alive and fabulous than I had ever felt before.

I feel proud of what I’ve achieved and think to myself,

‘wow you really owned it then.’

My first performance was in November 2017 and I haven’t really stopped since. After taking more lessons, including the Luscious Cabaret Advanced course earlier this year, I’m now performing regularly across London and have been chosen to perform in both the Bristol and Glasgow Burlesque Festivals, which I’m super excited about.

For me burlesque is not just about the buzz of performing, it’s about being part of an amazing community and empowering others to feel good about themselves. I’ve met some incredibly inspiring people, made some awesome friends and generally feel so lucky to be part of something so inclusive, creative and special.

It’s also really helped me with my body confidence. I used to genuinely hate my bum but have been told by a lot of people it’s one of my best assets on stage, so have learnt to embrace it, along with my other imperfections. Likewise, I look at photos from past shoots and shows and instead of immediately picking faults, I feel proud of what I’ve achieved and think to myself, ‘wow you really owned it then.’

My latest adventure is co-producing the next Luscious Cabaret with my burlesque sister Allegra Whispers. We’ve cast some of the best up-and-coming burlesque and cabaret performers across London and have had a lot of fun along the way. The show is on Friday 2ndAugust at The Albany, Great Portland Street and tickets are only £5 if booked in advance. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/luscious-takeover-tickets-62321002797

So, to wrap up, if anyone is thinking about giving burlesque a go… DO IT!! It’s genuinely the best thing I’ve ever done, and I couldn’t imagine my life without it.  Also, come to our show… it’s going to be awesome 😉x

On September 15th 2017 Frankly Desire recommended the Luscious Burlesque Course to “Everyone” below is the original blog sharing all of the fun …
The Luscious Burlesque course has been going for longer than Little Lady Luscious cares to admit to, but she is always pleasantly surprised by the diversity of the students and the acts that they create. So whether you are a seasoned professional dancer, an enthusiastic cabaret lover, a complete beginner with no idea of what burlesque is (!), or a total lay person who would like to develop their confidence through a fun and low pressure dance class – this course is probably for you. Today we meet incomparable Frankly Desire!

Why did you decide to do the Luscious Burlesque course?

Burlesque is something that always was in the back of my mind and I never had the dare to do, that is why when my friend Momo said she was joining the course I quickly jumped in!

Describe the course in 3 words.
 Fun, fun, fun… for real!
What did you learn from doing the course?
There is more in burlesque than taking clothes off and to enjoy and love my body as it is.
Well… lets say I am more cheeky now than before…
What was the best thing about it?
Apart from the amazing Emily that helped us every step of the way, the people I met during the course is the best thing, being all of us from different backgrounds is an amazing experience to learn and discover burlesque through someonelse’s eyes.
Tell us about the first time you performed. How did you feel?
I felt like a turkey the day before thanksgiving! But thanks to everyone there, the feeling ended up being like an astronaut watching down to earth. Unbelievable amazing!!!!!!
Have you performed since the luscious debut show?
I have performed with some friends in a show but it was not really burlesque, although I was taking my clothes off. Being on the course helped me a lot for that performance as I was feeling more confident with myself and I think that translated on my performance.
Who would you recommend the course to?
 Everybody!!
Do you use any of the skills you learned in every day life?
Well… lets say I am more cheeky now than before…
If you think the course sounds like it might be for you, for more info on the burlesque fun click here! or book your space via the button below.

When this application fell into our inbox we got quite hot and bothered while watching the video.  It was both educational and hilarious and an overall perfect fit for Luscious Cabaret.  We are thrilled to have Moon Dragon joining us on Friday 5th July and we think you will be too.  Read on to find out who inspires her and get a sneak peek of what to expect from her act on Friday!

Luscious Cabaret, Moon Dragon, Friday 5th July
How long have you been performing and what inspired you to get started?
I’ve been performing for a little over a year, but started classes nearly 3 years ago. I’d been interested in burlesque for a while but at that moment in time I needed to do something for me – I’d got a bit lost and I needed a space where I could find myself again. Not only did I find myself but I also found Moon Dragon along the way.
Image of Moon Dragon smiling
What do you love most about performing?
I love the whole process of developing my own concept into a performance so that others can hear my stories.
Who inspires you as a performer?
My burlesque mama is Tempest Rose and I get inspiration from her and a lot of my House of Burlesque family. Outside of the family it has to be the wonderful Trixi Tassels.
What has been your most memorable moment on stage?
Probably my first performance as a 10 year old playing Widow Twankee in my primary school pantomime. There were so many lines to learn but I loved it.
I’d got a bit lost and I needed a space where I could find myself again
We can’t wait to welcome you to the Luscious Cabaret stage without giving too much away can you tell us a little bit about your act?
‘Changes’ is an act about that time in a woman’s life when it could so easily feel like it’s all falling apart. But is it?? Developed as an educational act for the House of Burlesque Fresh Sex Education Special, this performance combines some of the positives and negatives of menopause, aiming to break the taboo and raise awareness about the topic whilst also delivering a health education message about safer sex.

Now this is one Lady we have been trying to get to the Luscious Cabaret since around 2017!  And she won’t be alone, she will be joined by Honest John.  This is both an inspiring and uplifting piece of cabaret and we can’t wait to bring it to you our Luscious audience …

Luscious Cabaret, Lady Blue Phoenix, Friday 5th July

How long have you been performing and what inspired you to get started?
I have been performing now for 3 years. I have to say that I was at first inspired by a show I saw in my local area of Southend on sea, but was further inspired by Violet Blaze when she was a guest judge at Burlesque Idol. Her confidence and presence wowed me and just overall made me realise that everyone no matter what is beautiful. I went to a few more shows and overall what hooked me was how unique and individual the performers where in the industry and how there were accepted.

What do you love most about performing?
Being able to tell a mini story that tells the audience a bit about me. Each time I perform I feel as though I am showing the audience the world through my eyes and they get to gain a perspective that they might not be familiar with. That with each foot step, reveal, or facial expression I connect to them and they to me and get to understand more about the world as I see it.

Her confidence and presence wowed me and just overall made me realise that everyone no matter what is beautiful.

Who inspires you as a performer?
I have a few people who inspire me. Rubyyy Jones for their fierceness, mentor ship, friendship and sisterhood  and her acts make you think and challenge the audience views on lots of things. L’amour Le Monde for her stunning drag acts and her journey with burlesque that she tells with her burlesque act breath of life. Onyx Fatale for her acts that blend comedy and dance together and those that are just amazing hip hop dances that are out of this world.
I feel as though I am showing the audience the world through my eyes

What has been your most memorable moment on stage?
Prior to burlesque I hadn’t really done anything on stage, but my most memorable time on stage would be the moment I actually had my first violin solo. I was scared, but when I got over that fear and played it was such an exhilarating experience for me.I honestly used to be scared to go on stage, but this moment helped me get over this fear and burlesque has just helped me even more by building my confidence on and off stage.

Columbia is a double act that presents a scathing political satire of the current state of the USA.

Aubrey Jean at Luscious Cabaret Friday 5th July
How long have you been performing and what inspired you to get started?
I have been performing in am-dram since the age of four. I moved to London to go to dance school and then on to drama school and live amongst the excitement and buzz and artistic world of the city and to pursue a performing career. I was inspired to perform because I was quite a shy introverted chap growing up and this was a way of expressing myself and getting myself out there. Once on stage I caught the acting bug and now I can’t stop! In terms of what inspired me to do drag I love Drag Race, and watched it from season 1. I guess it kind of gave me permission and I saw how fun it could be, and it reminded me of my four year old self who’d dress up like Geri Halliwell and dance on the coffee table for my Grandma whilst she did her crossword in the paper. I’d suppressed him a little and it’s time he came out and made a comeback as something fabulous – voila! Aubrey Jean was born! Performing in Netflix’s ‘The Alienist’ last year as a boy prostitute in feminine clothing also made me think if I can do it on screen the next step is to get on stage and REALLY do it – so I did! With The Art of Drag course. Do it! Best course ever!
What do you love most about performing?
Making people laugh and smile. Best feeling ever. The feeling of being accepted too, that people are genuinely enjoying your performance and interested in your funny little sketch and what you have to say, and the enjoyment you feel in entertaining people and bringing them some joy and happiness. The uplifting buzz it gives you when you’re out there on stage and you catch the sparkle in people’s eyes from their smiling faces and you know you’re on the ice and the audience are right there with you going along for the ride! ‘ONCE MORE UNTO THE BREACH DEAR FRIENDS!’

Aubrey Jean is the worlds first Vegan Drag Superstar! With a passion for the eggplant and saving the environment one humpback whale at a time

Who inspires you as a performer?
Madonna. I know some people aren’t keen but I love her staying power, she’s intelligent, she’s artistic, her finger is on the pulse. She’s fearless, I love her ‘you say I can’t do it but I’ll do it anyway and succeed’ attitude. And she does. Hyacinth Bucket because she reminds me of my Grandma. My Grandma. Violet Chacki – her aesthetic and her level of drag and insane beauty. Pina Bausch – Tanztheater Wuppertal, Shangela, Courtney Act, The Spice Girls, Lady Gaga, Bette Midler in Hocus Pocus, Meryl Streep as Madeleine Ashton in Death Becomes Her.
Picture of Meryl Streep in Death Becomes her
What has been your most memorable moment on stage?
Probably dancing on a table in a brothel in nothing but ostrich feathers in front of Luke Evans. That was pretty memorable. And it’s when I thought to myself I want to seriously do Drag.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the Luscious Cabaret stage without giving too much away can you tell us a little bit about your act?
Aubrey Jean is the worlds first Vegan Drag Superstar! With a passion for the eggplant and saving the environment one humpback whale at a time, she’s abandoned her Organic Greengrocery store and has wheelbarrowed herself into the heart of London to spread her message of Veganism to the queers all over the world!

After performing her drag stand-up at Luscious Cabaret back in April, Ms Larissa Thorne decided to give burlesque a spin. She went ahead and signed up for the Luscious Burlesque Course and is soo excited to present Raven Divine to cabaret world.  This sexy and sultry minx will be getting you all hot under the collar on Friday night.

Ravine Divine, Luscious Cabaret Friday 5th July

It’s been a joy to teach Raven Divine.  The whole class had shoe envy through out the course.  Seriously when she comes on stage on Friday check out the gorgeous boots that will be on display!  Not only has she been a divine student she is a divine person too.  Read on to find out more …

Have you ever been on stage before?
I’ve performed in drag on the Luscious Cabaret stage, the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Comedy Pub and Two Brewers. However, I was fully dressed at the end of those performances. Overdressed even.
Oh, and I was in panto as a teenager. Peter Pan. I was a Lost Boy called Slightly Soiled. It could have been a prediction…

By Day security Manager by Night drag queen and burlesque artisite

Are you excited about getting on to the Luscious Cabaret Stage?
Somewhere between excited and terrified!

How different is your day job from burlesque?
By day I’m a security manager. By night, drag queen and now burlesque artiste. Poles apart! I have been practicing my shimmies at work though.

Larissa Thorne looking at the audience asking for agreementWhat did you enjoy most about the Luscious Burlesque Course?
Little Lady Luscious and Trixi Tassels are so warm and supportive! I feel my creativity has been nurtured. And the other students have been great!

Come along to London’s most welcoming cabaret this Friday and show the lovely Raven Divine some Luscious love with whoops, cheers and plenty foot stamping.

Aah the lovely Gigi Vin Rouge, a recent graduate from the Luscious Burlesque Course, was recommending the course to a friend and in the process decided to do the course a second time. This time re – working her first routine into something more daring, with an extra bit of razzle dazzle and a few giggles for the lovers of 90’s music.

“Do you want the short, simple answer, or the much more complicated one that will play out like a therapy session?”

It’s been quite the journey for Gigi, slowly but surely she’s been stepping from the back of the classroom towards the front.  We’ve loved having her in class, she brings both joy and honesty to each session. The new version of her act is brilliant, she decided to challenge herself this term and we can see an amazing cabaret character blossoming.   We are most looking forward to her having her “fuck it!” moment on stage.  Read on to find out the difference between her day job and the burlesque life and her very honest and beautiful review of the Luscious Burlesque Course …
Picture of Gigi with Luscious Cabaret Friday 5th July
Have you ever been on stage before?
Before my Luscious debut a couple of months ago, the only thing I’d done recently is write and perform in the teachers’ panto at school! It was an altogether more clothed and less sweary performance.
Are you excited about getting on to the Luscious Cabaret stage?
Excited. Hmm. It’s hard to pinpoint an exact emotion. Definitely nervous, yes, probably a bit excited. Slightly repressing the fact that it is going to happen. I’m looking forward to the night as a whole though. The audience, the energy, the buzz of being part of something so special.
How different is your day job from burlesque?
I’m a SEN teacher, so at first glance, totally different. In actuality, there are a lot of similarities. I spend a significant portion of my day performing, trying to engage people and making them laugh. As yet, none of my burlesque experiences have involved separating squabbling children, interactive white boards or spending hours by the photocopier, though, they are both glitter heavy professions.

What did you enjoy most about the Luscious Burlesque Course?
Do you want the short, simple answer, or the much more complicated one that will play out like a therapy session? I’ll give you both.

The simple answer is that I enjoyed the people and the atmosphere. I go out a lot in London, and I’ve never felt so welcomed into an event as I have been at Luscious Cabaret. It’s warm, inclusive and so, so much fun, as are all of the people involved <3

“do you know what, fuck it! I’m still going to get on stage and dance and take of my clothes. And I will do it to fucking cheers!”

The longer, more rambling answer is that I haven’t always enjoyed the course, but what I have gained from it is utterly immeasurable. As a chubby/plus size (pick whatever synonym you like that doesn’t make you cringe or cry) person, I have had the constant, repeated message that my body is wrong, disgusting and worthless, that it should be hidden and something to be ashamed of. And I have spent my life believing this to my core. And I still believe it, but, do you know what, fuck it! I’m still going to get on stage and dance and take of my clothes. And I will do it to fucking cheers!

Picture Quote: This has been on of the best experiences ever

And hopefully, if I continue to celebrate my body, at some time in the future, the shame will be lessened. So, I haven’t always enjoyed the course. I’ve avoided the mirror at all cost, but I’m still doing it and each week is slightly easier than the last. I’ll keep going, and I’ll enjoy the wonderful people, the creativity and the buzz of the live show. Lots of love Luscious. This has been one of the best experiences ever.

Are you ready to cheer on the wonderful Gigi Vin Rouge?  Come along to Luscious Cabaret this Friday to whoop, cheer, and show the incredible human that is Gigi Vin Rouge some Luscious love.

With Paulus away there’s only one host in town who knows how to get the Luscious party started in their absence.  It is the awesome Carmen Mon Oxide.  In April she had our audience singing penis at the top of their voices, back in 2017 she tried seducing Little Lady Luscious’ partner, Mr Delicious by hiding him under her skirt.  We love it when Carmen comes to play as we are never quite sure what is going to happen next.  Read on to find out a little bit more about this cabaret powerhouse …

Luscious Cabaret, Friday 5th July Carmen Mon Oxide
How long have you been performing and what inspired you to get started?
It feels like a lifetime! I’ve been doing cabaret for more than ten years now and singing since before I can remember! I had a really terrible job in a call centre and had already been doing a bit of busking… but having to call people who were already giving and ask them to give more per month to Medicine San frontier made my stomach crawl. I knew I needed to become a singer and I had a diva strop after someone spoke to me in a patronising way and never looked back.
Carmen posing on a log
What do you love most about performing?
Haha! Everything apart from dragging a massive suitcase around. When I was younger I always thought being a singer would be super easy with no double bass or anything heavy to hump around. Little did I know I would end up having multiple costumes, my own microphone, amps, mic stands and a huge amount of make up.
Who inspires you as a performer?
Alice Cooper’s stage show, the costumes of disco and the fabric shops of Goldhawk Road!
What has been your most memorable moment on stage?
My first appearance on stage as Angel Gabriel in the Nativity play (age 5).
Book your tickets for Luscious Cabaret this Friday to find out what mischief Carmen Mon Oxide gets up to this month!

It’s time to meet Debbi Delaware. A rock and gospel singer of a certain age who has found (stumbled?) her way into the Cabaret circuit through a love of singing (belting out) heart-wrenching ballads and venues that serve booze. A born survivor of the slings and arrows life has thrown at her, she is here to tell her story. Occasionally using the stage name ‘The Lady Miss D’ (if it’s a classy venue) and also part of rock duo LaBelle et Le Beast.  It was part of rock duo LaBelle et Le Beast that Little Lady Luscious encountered Debbi, but who is she really?  Who inspires her and what does she have in store for us at Luscious Cabaret …

Debbie Delaware, Luscious Cabaret Friday 5th July

How long have you been performing and what inspired you to get started?

All my life I believed I could not sing – and had been told so many times I gave up trying – then two years ago I went into the Amazon Jungle to do an apprenticeship with an Ayahuasca Shaman and part of the work was to learn healing songs, or icaros, that are performed in the ceremonies to help people ‘purge’ and assist the healing/cleansing process. I was given a cd with recorded Icaros on and a lyrics sheet (which was pretty useless as it was in the native tribal language Shipibo – and what was written bore no resemblance to the sounds) and was left alone in the jungle to get on with it. By repeated listening and copying the sounds I found that I started to get the hang of it, then got quite good at it – according to others – but the real test was when I had to sing then in ceremony – and I had hardly got through the first verse and everyone was projectile vomiting (a good thing!). I knew I wasn’t able to hit some notes or get the breathing right so when I came bac I was determined to learn them properly so I was recommend a singing teach – short story – she informed be I could actually sing – and was quite good never having had a lesson – and she suggested I join the Gospel Choir she MD’d. Singing in the gospel choir introduced me to a wealth of very emotional songs and I would often find myself moved to tears – which was an inspiration in itself – so I wanted to share some of this with others – so I began trying for solos. It the solos I found I was very nervous so looked for something to do that might help with my nerves and stage presence and I came across Michael Twaits The Art of Drag course – which sounded fun so I did that and made my Drag debut at the student showcase at the end – that led to the heats of Prides Got Talent and then on to the semi-final. I love singing and love sharing song with people that I find moving (and often they do too).

What do you love most about performing?

Connecting with people, when the stories in the songs resonate.

Who inspires you as a performer?

I love women who don’t give a shit – so Cher, Debbie Harry, Polystyrene, Siouxsie and Wendy O’Williams.

What has been your most memorable moment on stage?

When I sang at The Power of Love World AIDS Day Gala in memory of Tony, the love I lost to AIDS.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the Luscious Cabaret stage without giving too much away can you tell us a little bit about your act?

Expect some big numbers on dark themes.

Join us on Friday 5th July for some to class singing, drag, burlesque and Friday Fun Times …

The countdown is on to Joyous July with Luscious Cabaret and it is time to get to know our performers a little better.  Lady Perez caught our eye while Little Lady Luscious was working with the Folly Mixtures last year.  Then lo and behold her alter ego works at The Academy Mews Studios where the Luscious Burlesque Course is run.  Well we thought with all of that in common we need to see Lady Perez on the the Luscious Cabaret stage and find out a bit more about the whaacking queen of burlesque …

How long have you been performing and what inspired you to get started?
I’ve been performing professionally for the past 6 years. The first time I stepped on stage when I was younger was the first moment I felt I could truly “be seen” – I’ve been performing ever since!
What do you love most about performing?
It gives me a voice and allows me to tell my story.
Who inspires you as a performer?
Rosie Perez hands down! I’ve watched her footage from Soul Train at least a million times!
What has been your most memorable moment on stage?
Winning a battle at Supernova in Taiwan last year. They gave me a champagne bath tub as a prop – needless to say I had fun!

In March 2018 whilst Little Lady Luscious was working on Burlesque Idol an email popped into the idol applications inbox about four days before a heat.  It was the week of the beast from the east.  The application was from Lolly Jones a new burlesque performer with a Theresa May themed act.

“I feel that we’ve amalgamated into one being now.  What will I do when she’s out of office?!”

It began “I know the March heat is on Friday but if you have a spare slot I would love to do it.”  Initial thought was not bloody likely.  Then the beast from the east took hold and the South of England went into meltdown.  Then emails from performers began flooding in “My train has been cancelled”  “I’m snowed in”.  LLL being a northerner was in disbelief.  Those on the reserve list for that month now had plans or were also snowed in.  The day before the show LLL found herself emailing Lolly Jones, “This week is you’re lucky week, can you still do the show?”  Lolly leapt at the chance and went on to win the heat!  Theresa May doing burlesque was a hit!

theresa May in stockings and suspenders

Now that Theresa May (the beast from Eastbourne) is leaving office we put it to the Luscious fans and with a 91% landslide, Lolly Jones/Theresa May will be making her leaving speech at Luscious Cabaret on Friday.  To get you all warmed up and ready for this landmark of a speech read on to find out how Theresa May and Lolly Jones became one …

When you have a day off, what do you do for fun?

Currently, I’m learning how to ride a hoverboard for my next act – Angela Merkel.  She’s so boring that I’m keeping her on the move.   Other than that, I really like going on long country walks and drinking Prosecco with a view.  It’s a welcome change to writing an Edinburgh show.  If I’m in reach of wifi, I’ll just be reading up on Brexit.

How did you choose your stage name?

My stage name chose me!  My real name is Lorna and around fifteen years ago, someone misheard me.  They thought I said Lolly and it stuck.  But mostly I’m just introduced as Theresa May.  I feel that we’ve amalgamated into one being now.  What will I do when she’s out of office?!

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?

I once did a show in Switzerland where all the electrics blew.  We didn’t have a techy so we just carried on in the dark.  The show was a three person Jekyll and Hyde. They didn’t miss out on much.

What do you love most about the cabaret community?

I’d previously been a stand up for about 6 years so when I crossed over onto the cabaret scene, I couldn’t believe the difference.  Rather than competition and self-deprecation, I’ve been immersed in a fun, supportive, exhilarating world.  I love seeing the props emerge from suitcases and learning how people came up with their bat shit crazy acts!  I love the camaraderie and the unpredictability.  It’s bloody wonderful!

Are you excited to see this love affair come to a close?  Book your seats to London’s most welcoming cabaret!

This marvellous performer was spotted by Little Lady Luscious at a heat of Burlesque Idol in 2018.  Her bumps, grinds & drop splits attracted our attention so when Victoria Rose’s application dropped into our inbox we just had to say yes and share her with our Luscious audience.

When you have a day off, what do you do for fun?
I enjoy seeing my friends for dinner or drinks and spending time at home doing nothing! Its needed sometimes.

How did you choose your stage name?
Victoria is my middle name and I thought I’d shove rose on the end to make it more burlesque fitting.

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?
Dropping into the splits in my second show when I couldn’t do the splits.

What do you love most about the cabaret community?

Little Lady Luscious met this performer many years ago, at The White Lion in Streatham.  They discussed dance and burlesque and how Scarlett O’Hora wanted to join the family fierce.  After becoming a member of that family she went to perform across London and Europe and three years ago formed the sensational show LADS with fellow family fierce members Lily Snatchdragon & Lolo Brow!  You can can possibly grab a few secret tickets via their FB page to their birthday show on June 19th!

When you have a day off, what do you do for fun?
I like to go for a hike or a walk, eat well with family or friends, read my book. Love having days off when the weathers good and I can be outside!

How did you choose your stage name?
So I used to work in a pub when I was first starting out and one of the locals and I were talking about the character and he brought up gone with the wind, and we joked about the emphasis being on the ‘whore’ and it just worked and i loved it.

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?
There’s been a few. One of my faves was backing dancing for Peaches, with my wonderful family fierce at yo! sissy in berlin!

What do you love most about the cabaret community?
I love how diverse it is and that everyone totally owns what they are doing!

Come along and enjoy the diverse and wonderful world of cabaret at The Albany Great Portland Street this Friday.

Back in 2016 Little Lady Luscious had the pleasure (or was it displeasure) to work with this next act at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern during the panto season.  A prince charming in Pantoland a daring drag artist on the cabaret scene.  In their own words …

Dinona Pussay; Your hostess with the mostess amounts of complaints regarding her foul mouthed service in the restaurant business. She’s a big believer in ‘Shy bairn’s get nowt’, but if you ask her for anything she’ll probably tell you to ‘p**s off and stop being a greedy f**ker’…..just like her Mam used to say.

Read on for more words of wisdom and discover a whole new way to see Dick & Dom.  Or you could just skip to the end and book your tickets for Luscious Cabaret this Friday!

1.When You have a day off, What do you do for fun?

Apart from flicking my bean on toast off………I like to visit galleries and museums and play a game of ‘BOGIES’ (anyone remember Dick & Dom……not the profile of the gay fetish couple from next door, but the two blokes on CBBC).

How did you choose your name?

Well, being a waitress (thankfully a former career), I wanted to have something that was different and tongue in cheek. I was humming ‘someone’s in the kitchen with Dina’, whilst thinking of the yoghurt company Danone…..(MMMM DANONE)…..so Dinona is a blend of the two and is pronounced DINE-ON-AH. My surname because, well, this hostess is always serving you Pussay…..!!!!

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?

When I was on tour with a show in Bristol at The Hippodrome, we had to run into the audience and pull up some audience members onto the stage to join in with us for the opening of act 2. This man really tried to resist and I managed to drag him up and we danced on the stage…..as all my cast members did with their respective audience member. After we would polka we would get the ‘audience’ on stage to hold hands and skip in a circle. Well it all made sense why the man I dragged up on stage didn’t want to come up as he didn’t have an arm. He had a long sleeve shirt on (no prosthetic) with a glove that was stuffed and stapled to his hand. When I realised this, I looked confused and looked at it, then at this woman’s hand, back again and back to hers……then I just shoved his ‘hand’ in hers and got them to carry on skipping. The whole crew were in hysterics, but that may have been the fact another member of the cast had pulled up someone with a wooden leg. You seriously could not make this up……”couldn’t write a book, as my Mam says!!!

What do you love most about the cabaret community?

Where else can you find such an eclectic mix of wonderful acts and fantastic people……laugh one minute, then question a really serious point. It’s theatre but in micro doses with more artistic license……and you can always get a decent Gin and Tonic…..Bottoms up, dears…..(no, that’s not my Grindr profile name either).

Join Dinona Pussay and ths absolutely fabulous line up on Friday from 8pm at The Albany Great Portland St.  Book your tickets here to the most welcoming cabaret in London.

When you have a day off, what do you do for fun?

I enjoy the green grass, and the fresh air by the water, doing some yoga and listening to music, spending time with the people I love. Sometimes also just enjoying my own company and exploring, I love a good adventure!

How did you choose your stage name?
Well I guess it’s just my name. I’ve learned to own it.

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?
That’s a tough one – most of my experiences have been really good and I’ve just loved the thrill!

What do you love most about the cabaret community?
The acceptance and the love that everyone gives, it’s so beautiful and welcoming!

Click here to join us for Friday fun times at Luscious Cabaret!

Felina Onyx joined us on the Luscious stage back in October 2018.  We enjoyed her act so much that we had to ask her to come back.  Since then she has gone on to win first runner up at Burlesque Idol in April, winning herself a slot in the final in November 2018!  Lover of cats this feline friendly performer is one proud feminist, she’ll be taking you on a journey through feminist history which will have you on your feet whooping and cheering.  Come along on Friday 7th June and join in the Luscious Cabaret fun with Felina and london’s cabaret misfits at The Albany Great Portland St.

Felina close up smiling with Luscious Cabaret logo Friday 7th June

But first lets find out a little more about the awesome Felina Onyx …

When you have a day off, what do you do for fun?

I like to meet up with friends, nothing fancy, a nice pub or someone’s house for dinner. If I have been organised I would have booked some studio tome to practice aerial silks.

How did you choose your stage name?

Took 2 weeks! I chose “Felina” which is feline in Spanish because it had to be something cat related and I’m Spanish. Onyx because black is one of my favourite colours, my cat is black and onyx is the stone we use to decorate with embroidery the folklore costume from my region in Spain.

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?

One of my feather fans breaking while I was being called on stage

What do you love most about the cabaret community?

The warmth, support and non judgmental nature of everyone in this business

Ready to book your tickets?  Click here to join in the fun at London’s most welcoming Cabaret!

Opening up the application link on the luscious website meant opening up to new and very different styles of performance.  Little Lady Luscious loves it when something drops into the inbox that she has never seen before.  Luscious had never seen anything like Shirley the Middle aged siren and before she even realised she had done it the booked button was clicked.  Welcome another misfit to the Luscious mix who’ll have you giggling into you gin this Friday at Luscious Cabaret.  To give you a wee insight meet Shirley and what she loves about the cabaret …

When you have a day off, what do you do for fun?

Drink tea, eat grapes and swim

How did you choose your stage name?

Shirley came from an ‘S’ name to go with Siren and I was going for a derogatory term that used to be used in Australia for women, but got it wrong – should have been ‘Shelia’ and a cross with the Johnny Cash – a boy named Sue (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Gbtm-93oqE) – shows you a bit of how my head works, not terrible well?!

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?

Too many to name, but most recent was when I was hired to be ‘Cat in the Hat’ for a school open day, but I was being driven by someone who is dyslexic and I’m dyslexic and we weren’t given the full address of where we needed to be, so we didn’t notice the difference between Lingfield and Lindfield – who knew there were 2 such closely named places?!

What do you love most about the cabaret community?

You guys are like my broken beautiful self

We are just a little too excited about Lynn Ruth Miller coming along to Luscious Cabaret.  An email landed in our inbox with the subject title “HELLO! Regina suggested I write to you”  with a recommendation from Diva Regina we knew this would be a special artist so we clicked read.  Lynn’s burlesque bio had us won over from the start:

“LYNN RUTH MILLER started doing burlesque on stage when she was 73 years old. She won the best newcomer and most original performance at the Texas International Burlesque Festival in 2012, headlined at the Bristol Burlesque Festival in 2015 and has been ripping her clothes off at every opportunity ever since. She is a regular at Whip-it-out Productions in Bridgewater and in the London Burlesque productions and will be starring in the Glasgow Burlesque Festival in November 2018. Now 85, she insists she can still shake, rattle and roll with the best of them.”

Lynn Ruth Miller with pink feather boa wrapped around her

This is what we love about burlesque here at Luscious Cabaret.  There truly are no boundaries, you can be a glamourous showgirl in one act and a science fiction character in another.  You can choose classic music to strip to or you can choose heavy metal.  And in Lynn Ruth Miller’s case you can be 85 and shaking that ass with the best of them!

We couldn’t wait to learn a little bit more about her for our blog.  If you’re inspired and want come on down on Friday to meet this wonderful human being the ticket link is at the end of the blog.

When you have a day off, what do you do for fun?

I paint pictures.  It is my secret calling.

How did you choose your stage name?

My mother chose it.

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?

There have been so many; I think my favourite one  so far is when a gorgeous young man in his twenties told me how sexy I am ( I told him to make an appointment immediately with an Ophthalmologist)

What do you love most about the cabaret community?

I love that there is no sense of competition  We all are there to help and encourage one another.

On that note why not come on down on Friday night and show your support of live cabaret.  Encourage our artists with whoops, cheers and maybe a tipple or two …

Today we meet Paulus … again.  Our gorgeous host has been with us since September and before that they have popped into Luscious Cabaret many times to try out new songs.

We particulary loved the month they came to Luscious as part of Nasty Blouse and played the Farrow & Ball game.  We highly recommend you come visit Luscious Cabaret and share in the love of Paulus (they even have a brooch that says love on their jacket).

Paulus squatting whilst talking into a microphone

So what is it that Paulus does for fun?  How did the Paulus stage name come about? What is it that they love about cabaret?  Only one way to find out and that’s to read on …

When you have a day off, what do you do for fun?

I am currently in the throes of making candles out of old bits of candle that did not burn to the bottom. I’ve got a bucketful.  Soon the trees in my garden will bloom with plums and pears and I shall start harvesting them for jams and chutneys, and the rose petals from my garden will all need drying and turning into pot pourri come Autumn.  That, and world domination, obvs.

How did you choose your stage name?

I was nicknamed Paulus by a girlfriend (yes, I was shocked too!) at the age of 13.  Fast-forward 30 years and I discover that I shared the name with a French Music Hall performers from the 1800s who was very popular in old London taaaahn. So, it seemed like fate.

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?

I did a gig once in the late 90s where all the performers were paid handsomely, treated fairly, nobody heckled and we all were in bed by 10pm, sober.  That was pretty crazy.

What do you love most about the cabaret community?

We’re misfits. We gather together in this clearing we call cabaret having discovered that the other paths and walkways in the forest were too prescriptive as to who could join.  We dance and sing and celebrate our lack of conformity in this clearing in the woods.

Picture of Paulus & date of the next show 7th June

Come and join us in our luscious clearing. The misfits of London and beyond are welcome to join in this fun night of burlesque, drag and music …

As we write the sun is breaking through the cloud so it seems a very apt moment to introduce you to this up and coming ray of light on the burlesque scene.  Celeste Étoile’s application video brought a smile to our face.  The cheeky winks and wistful wiggles got us moving and grooving to her routine.  We knew she would get our wonderful and glittery audience doing the same.  Which is why we booked her for our upcoming show on Friday 7th June at The Albany Great Portland St (you can book your tickets to the most welcoming cabaret in London here.).

Celeste Étoile’s fall to earth with a bump and a grind in 2018 has set the stage for a glittering career in burlesque.  We wanted to get to know a little bit more about the sparkly Celeste, and find out the important things like what she does on her day off.  Read on and learn what she loves about the cabaret community …

When you have a day off, what do you do for fun?

I love going for walks around London! There’s so much to see of this fascinating city by foot, and recently I’ve been using a “hidden walks” guide, that gives you loads of fun facts about different areas and hidden locations, most of them right in the heart of Zone 1! If the weather is bad I love curling up with a good book.

How did you choose your stage name?

For the longest time, I thought I was going to be called “Hazel Halliday” – I thought she sounded like a glamorous 1940s Hollywood Movie star. As I began to learn who I was as a burlesque artist, that definitely wasn’t who I was! I wanted something playful, as my character seemed to be this fairly innocent ingenue on the surface, but could be cheeky and a little outrageous. That started me thinking about the angel/devil dynamic, and then I just started google translating a lot of heaven based words into French (as I was very inspired by Baz Luhrman’s Moulin Rouge in the beginning). I googled so many different combinations, and then like that, Celeste was born on the W7 bus on my way home!

What’s the craziest moment you’ve experienced as a performer?

I am still a fairly new performer, but I think one of the craziest unbelievable things was being a 2019 finalist in the Legend in the Making competition at Hebden Bridge Burlesque Festival. From what I understand, it is an extremely popular competition to apply for and the standard is really high, so to be asked to perform at the festival was a pinch me moment. Lady Wildflower and Heidi Bang Tidy are run an amazingly tight ship, and it was one of warmest and supportive shows I’ve been part of.

What do you love most about the cabaret community?

The warmth and support I feel from other performers when I go to shows. One of my favourite things about going to shows is seeing what other people are creating, there are always such creative and beautiful acts that I could never dream of devising, so it is really amazing to appreciate someone’s craft. It’s also really inspiring too!
If you too would like come and be inspired by the cabaret community join us on Friday 7th June at The Albany Great Portland St.  They’ll be plenty of fun for everyone as we kickstart your weekend!

We are loving the sunshine here at Luscious HQ and we can’t wait to jump into June and have more Luscious fun and games with our wonderful audience.  This Luscious Line up is all set to entertain and delight  Get ready for the giggles at the “loveliest cabaret in town!” on Friday 7th June …

The sun is shining as we write and we can’t wait for the next round of fun and fabulousness of the Luscious Burlesque Course. We’ve been catching up with some Luscious graduates to find out what they are doing now and what impact the course had on them. The course has been going for longer than Little Lady Luscious cares to admit to, but she loves the diversity of the students and the acts that they create. So whether you are a seasoned professional dancer, an enthusiastic cabaret lover, a complete beginner with no idea of what burlesque is (!), or a total lay person who would like to develop their confidence through a fun and low pressure dance class – this course is probably for you.
This week we’re catching up with Sissi Emerald who is an actress as her day job and found that the course gave her more confidence in her performance and her day to day life.

Why did you decide to do the Luscious Burlesque course?
As an actor I have had massive body confidence issues and after seeing one of my friends performing and just wanted to give a try to gain some confidence
Also the universe of cabaret and burlesque has always fascinated me and it is a skill that I always wanted to have

Describe the course in 3 words.
Friendly, liberating, Chill

What did you learn from doing the course?
I learned that being sexy is not about your body type but more a state of mind. The size doesn’t matter. All women an men have the sexy side in them. You just need to own it

What was the best thing about it?
My confidence is so much higher now. I feel better in my skin. You are also surrounded by other people that support you and sometimes they become your friends.

Tell us about the first time you performed. How did you feel?
Before going on Stage, I was shaking. Once on it though, I felt in control and it was so empowering. I didn’t want to leave the stage! Being cheered by the audience is also a big plus. No judgement, just fun and pleasure.
Have you performed since the luscious debut show?
Yes, I performed a second time with Luscious cabaret and also had my first performance at the Edinburgh fringe. I will perform again in October

Who would you recommend the course to?
I would advise every  girls or guys who has confidence issue or has difficulty to look at themselves as sexy, to do this course.
You will leave this class with a changed and more positive opinion of yourself
Do you use any of the skills you learned in every day life?
I use it a lot in my actor life, for audition, I walk with confidence in the room.

Sisi’s experience inspired us to begin the Advanced Course.  If you’ve taken a course of burlesque you can now continue your burlesque journey, where you can continue to grow and soar.

Check out our Workshops and Classes page to find out more.  The next beginners course starts Wednesday 1st May.  Bring yourself and we’ll provide the feathers and fun!

Stormina

The Luscious Burlesque Classes restart in less than a month. In the next few weeks, we’ll be talking to some previous students about their experience with the course. Today we’ve asked Stormina Teacup to give us her reflections on the Luscious Burlesque Class. Stormina is a former student who now performs (occasionally) and works backstage with the House of Burlesque and Little Lady Luscious. This is what she had to say about her time on the course:

Having never seen a burlesque show before, it may have been quite a rash decision to take a burlesque class. My love of 19th century costume and lingerie brought me to burlesque and I decided that I wanted to wear corsets and bustles and to be able to move in them. Considering that I am quite introverted – this may not have been my most sensible decision in my life, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Little Lady Luscious immediately burst my bubble, by dispelling me of the idea that burlesque was all moulin rouge. I realised how huge the genre of burlesque could be and that I could really explore my own character through burlesque performance. The way that the course is broken down each week with different skills and staples of burlesque makes it seem much less daunting and fun. Learning booty shakes, shimmying and how to walk (in heels) in different personas is a real boost to everyone’s confidence and the group is normally a big mix, meaning that there is a very friendly atmosphere. LLL is also the least scary teacher you can imagine, with limitless patience and the ability to really bring you out of your shell (mostly using giggles and cuteness).

Developing my own stage name and burlesque persona (which has continued to grow since finishing the course) was really exciting and learning different routines and developing choreography was a really fun project. Having a performance at the end of the course makes your first routine into a real labour of love and while I felt incredibly nervous before hand, it felt amazing being on stage in a costume I had put together myself which included, of course, a bustle.

Since finishing the course I have chosen to get more involved with backstage preparation and costuming more than performing. I’ve met and worked with so many amazing performers and am now part of the most empowering, friendly and supportive burlesque family I could imagine. I’ve also got together with some of the other girls I was on the course with to create a troupe – we’ve performed together a few times, and we recently put on a show with the Luscious boy’s troupe: Gentleman’s Relish. Burlesque is such a varied and beautiful art form, with such amazing creativity and flexibility that you can take it as far as you want to. Learning important life skills, like how to bend down and pick something up coyly, or how to do something as simple as removing a glove while inspiring the most lustful thoughts imaginable have made me feel more confident in my day to day life and have hugely improved my sense of self and made me a lot more accepting of my body.

But don’t just take Stormina’s word for it. The first class is on 1st May

Belle De Beauvoir

This fabulous lady is taking the burlesque world by storm and only graduated from the Cheek Of It! Burlesque school less than one year ago.  So with such a busy schedule what does do for fun?

“My favourite thing to do offstage is to take self care time! A rose water bubble bath with some old vintage movies and a glass of Prosecco never does me wrong!”
Paulus
On the 2nd March our host is returning to the TV for the second series of All Together Now.  That must be a fun show to work on, but Paulus rarely stands.  Could this be because he is hard to impress or he just doesn’t know how to have fun …
“I have not had fun since 1997 when I got caught in a lift with a hula hoop salesman.”

Our next new performer is the fabulous Mimi Sugar Pill.  Graduating from The House of Burlesque Academy in November this impressive woman goes from one extreme to the other …

“Drink prosecco!”
Cerise Rei
This performer is one firecracker on stage and we can’t wait to introduce her to our Luscious audience.  Dance is her passion but is there something else she loves more?
“Dancing is honestly when I’m having the most fun, it means the world to me or if I’m sleeping because I love sleep! I’m a bit like a cat.”

It’s time to get to know our Luscious Line Up for Luscious Cabaret – February and here to tell us why it’s a very Luscious Line Up is Little Lady Luscious

“It’s been 10 years since I took my first burlesque class. As that thought occurred to me it was like “I need a full Luscious Line Up to celebrate.” I’ve put together a line up of ex – students who are still performing, Trixi Tassels cos she’s awesome and I love teaching with her and of course Admiral John as he’s been there since the beginning. One of my students has requested I perform a certain act. I’ll let the photo be the clue …”

We decided to ask our performers a question from why they took the Luscious burlesque course to why they love burlesque and performing at Luscious Cabaret …

Allegra Whispers

Recent graduate and just all round fabulous lady Allegra Whispers has been keeping Little Lady Luscious up to date with what’s happening with kids, so we had to ask her …

Q: What did you enjoy most about taking the Luscious Burlesque course?

A: “I’ve found something that I truly love doing, I’ve gained an immense self confidence, everyone is incredibly supportive and lovely.”

Stormina Teacup

When Stormina Teacup walked into the Luscious Classroom we knew we had one special lady joining the luscious family. It would be rude not to ask her to take part in the ultimate Luscious Line Up.

Q: Not only did you do the course twice but you’ve kept coming back to perform, stage manage and even done a bit of Luscious social media.  What do you enjoy most about “All Things Luscious”

A: “Being part of the Luscious family is huge! This motley
bunch have taught me everything I know, have supported me creatively, emotionally and after a night out, physically.”

Donna Divine

When this lady struts you know she is doing it on purpose.  So when LLL wanted to create a duet which incorporated sexiness and LLL’s silliness Donna was the person to ask.  Which is why we asked her …

Q: What have you enjoyed the most about working with Little Lady Luscious?

A: “Little Lady Luscious brings so much fun, love and sense of community to all her shows and productions. Performing with luscious Cabaret always feels like a celebration and Lady Luscious always creates a safe and positive place for her performances.”

Trixi Tassels

Another partner in crime, this time teaching crime.  Trixi and Luscious teamed up last year and have taken the Luscious Burlesque Course to the next level.  So we had to ask …

Q: Why do you love burlesque?

A: “I’ve always been a creative person since I was a child when I enjoyed being on stage with my acting or dancing performances. My mother inspired in me my love of sewing and costuming and I used to have a small business making bespoke corsets in Australia. So I guess what I love the most about burlesque is that it wraps up all of my creative passions in one outlet and allows such a broad range of expression from the purely cheesecake through to raunchy sex-siren, from comedy and satire to deeply political. And the most excellent women and men that we meet through this art-form is definitely key too.”

Chalkilicious

After seeing a show this fellow had already joined the Luscious family before taking the Luscious Burlesque Course.  So we had to ask …

Q: Why did you decide to take the Luscious Burlesque Course?

A: “I had a relentlessly sexy vixen trapped inside me, just bursting to get out. After going to a Luscious Cabaret, I knew Emily had the skill and insight to see my inner sultry minx and coax him out with bumps, grinds, and glove peels.”

Admiral John

If you’ve ever been to the Luscious Burlesque Night you would of sung along with Admiral John, he can get even the most unresponsive Londoner singing along to a sea shanty.  Trust us, we once witnessed him getting a tube full of Londoners singing!  So why does he love the Luscious Stage so much?

A: “Everyone joining in and singing sea shanties they have never heard before! It’s all about audience participation!”

Vince Moon

One of our very first Luscious gents.  Himself and Harvey H Hendricks were the first boylesque class Little Lady Luscious ever taught.  We think a few drinks and Little Lady Luscious’ signature “I’m going to hold you to that”  may have something to do with Vince taking the Luscious Burlesque Course all those years ago …

Q: Why did you decide to do the Luscious Burlesque Course?

A: “I decided to do the course because I’d had quite a few gin and tonics, and it seemed like a good idea at the time.  Unusually, it turned out to still be a good idea once I was sober.”

Bootsy Bonafonté

Now this lady after doing the luscious burlesque course has gone on to entertain across London and beyond with her classic and comedic burlesque style.  We love having her back so we had to ask …

Q: You’ve performed at Luscious Cabaret a few times now from beginner to a seasoned pro what do you love about the Luscious Cabaret atmosphere?

A: “Luscious Cabaret is family to me; it’s where I started out as a burlesque artist. There is always a fun and supportive atmosphere for the performers which I think is so important – we’re here to have fun, right?! Performer or audience member, you’re always guaranteed a great night.”

If you’ve got a taste for “All Things Luscious”  and you want to become part of the Luscious family.  Come along on Friday 1st February to join in all of the Luscious fun from fancy dress to burlesque we’ve got it all!  Book your tickets via the button below …
