The show is tonight and we can’t wait! And here is our final performer profile, Gracie Disgrace. You can normally catch Gracie on a Saturday with partner Trixie Kixx as the House of Burlesque Belles (The HOB Speakeasy show is great fun if you get chance), but tonight she is going solo and will be performing not one but two acts!
Why did you start performing?
Since being little I have always loved dancing and performing. I studied dance at uni then moved up to London where saw my first burlesque show and I was in Love. I knew it was what I wanted to do.
Do you remember your first time on stage? How did that go?
My first burlesque solo felt so different to any previous time on stage. I was so nervous as it was something I created and choreographed and it was just me on stage. I was a pretty clueless newbie back then (about 7 years ago) and made a lot of mistakes new performers commonly make including drinking a little too much wine before stage.
What sets you apart from other performers?
I believe every performer has something unique to bring.
What’s your favourite thing about cabaret?
The freedom of expression and challenging the norm. Cabaret is such a warm welcoming totally messed up family! And I love sparkles!
How did you choose your stage name?
I was too lazy to give myself a new first name so I went though many Grace and Gracie related combos including Amazing Grace until finally deciding on Gracie Disgrace.
What’s your next challenge in life or in performing?
Along side performing I love competing in Crossfit, bring on European Camps and Box Battles. 💪🏻
Join us tonight for an awesome evening of burlesque and cabaret! Tickets available online until 4pm or £15 on the door!
